For Your Information:

Storm spotters are ordinary civilians who are trained and certified by the national weather service or a NWS sanctioned organization to provide life saving status information about ongoing thunderstorms through reports online or over radio. Storms spotters are on the front lines, making sure that the public is aware of any looming severe weather threats.

About me:

Hi there! I'm Owen. Severe weather, tornadoes, and thunderstorms have always intrigued me. I've always had some innate "respect" for storms, but have always been intrigued. I grew up watching videos and learning about specific severe weather events, but never really diving any deeper than that.

My interest really stagnated, until I met Alex. We first met in choir freshman year and almost immediately hit it off. We both ended up being nerdy about much of the same things, but did trade interests. In my case, he brought me back into my weather interest and encouraged me to learn about the science behind it, and he also drove me to get my SKYWARN® certification and become a trained spotter.

I've also grown to really enjoy photography, of any kind really, but the one chance I've had to shoot a storm really caught my attention, and I've really been excited to get another opportunity to photograph storms.

Like Alex, I really don't have a lot of experience spotting, so I hope to use the full capacity of this experience to learn,  make a lot of new memories, and try out something I've never done before.

Thanks so much! Stay tuned! We'll have more for you soon.
